Coast Top Prom Picks!

So I have been out of the blogosphere for a few days spending time with a guy I have been seeing who is jetting off to Thailand on Monday- more on this in another post. However some brilliant news arrived with me while I was offline, I HAVE A NEW JOB! Hooooorah! I will no longer be living the dreary sadness of poor student life and I can't wait! Coincidently this new job is at the retail store Coast!

So here is an excuse not only to brag about my tremendous success but also to show off some of the amazing dresses I will be selling in the future! Before becoming a member of the coast team I had never really seen or worn any of their clothes before, however after browsing the selection I have noo idea why not.

Obviously it's occasionwear so it's very fancy and only for those one off posh events, thus I picked out a few prom ideas since I know it's only round the corner and for those who haven't been planning it since year 7, Coast have an amazing selection right now! I am especially in love with the Thalia dress ( bottom right) it's just the kind of girly thing I would normally run a mile from but something about it screams i'm a princess in a non spoilt brat way.

Wardrobe Wonders and Coat Obsessions

Warrdrobe Wonders

Here is a collection of my most treasured wardrobe items! As some of you may know if you follow me on instagram you may already know how obsessed I am with my River Island Coat which I wear probably far too much. I am a coat addict mainly because I think you can wear a totally boring outfit and put on an amazing coat like that and it just instantly looks fab. That particular coat is only available on ebay now I think, but gorgeous statement coats are available everywhere at the moment, here are a few I love!

Summer Coat Lovin

  1. Topshop Check Trench Coat
  2. Zara Yellow Blazer Coat
  3. Topshop Snake Print Duster Coat
  4. Zara Straight Cut Coat
  5. Zara Black Blazer Coat
  6. Zara Yellow Pocket Coat
The majority of the coats are Zara but what can I say, they do good quality great outerwear! I particularly love the bright yellow blazer coat even though it scares me a little bit.

Anyway back to my wardrobe, I think my American Apparel obsession phase has kind of ended now, there quality is not always amazing and even though they have really great ethical standards their clothes are sometimes extortionate for a high street chain. I do ed however own six chiffon shirts in different patterns and colours, the two above being my favourite. I just think the chiffon shirt is very versatile and with the fancier patterned ones an easy way to jazz up an outfit. However at £52 a pop I would definitely recommend some dupes maybe this or this.

Black mom jeans are perfection for someone like me who has had a bit of a phobia of jeans for a while.I have big hips so love anything high waisted is a must and these are crazy comfy and well worth the investment. However do beware with Topshop jeans sizing as its not always what it seems, they have some very off measurements and sometimes one pair of jeans in one size might not fit but the same size in a different colour will! Very confusing!

Finally SHOES!! Obviously neither of these are particularly summer orientated but they have got me through the foul English winter just perfectly. I think everyone deserves a pair of doc martens once in there life, and this type of shoe version is great to get you started if you are scared of the bigger boots! Vagabond make amazing shoes and I bought this pair from Office, I think the ones in the picture are fabric but mine have a black leather top part so even better. I would say however think about the kind of thing you will be using them for, because mine got messed up pretty easily and with all the similar looking cheaper boots out there £90 is a hell of a lot!

Urban Summer and Festival Faves

Urban Outiftter is sooo much better in summer

Proof alas that Urban Outiftters is soo much better at making pretty summer festival clothes than it is at making winter ones. I fell head over heels for the Kimchi Blue Bodycon Dungaree Dress (left) as soon as I saw it in the shop, a perfect summer piece! Aswell as that I think chunky sandals are a must for this summer and even though the ones on the right are a little pricey there are loads of dupes out there that give the same kind of look. Particularly these and these! I have been in love with JuJus for a while now and i'm pretty sure I had some when I was about 8 or 9 (trendsetter) but these sparkly ones are sweet for summer and easy to look after in festival fields, plus with prices hitting there highest at £28 I think it's a must! Swing and smock dresses are of course the height of summer comfort and so easy to throw on when your hungover and ready to crawl out of a sweaty tent. I think it's all about loose material and simple happy designs, i'm a very colourful dresser so I would say it's time to liven things up because SUMMER IS COMING! YAAAY!

London

I went to London not so long ago, these are some snaps of me frolicking around in the Tate Modern I have to admit these lights were the only piece of work I liked all day, but the experience was fun.

University Room

I thought I would start by sharing a bit about my life, starting with where I spend the majority of it (recluse much) in my bedroom!

The bedding in the last photo is a new set from Ikea, I also invested in a new feather quilt which is amazing and I highly recommend! I made the polaroid washing line with my own polaroid camera that i bought on ebay, its a fun way to take photos but the film is soo expensive. The second lot of polaroid looking photos were from Firebox which is an amazing website that changed my instagram photos into those cute snaps! They do lots of other cute quirky gifts too so would definitely check them out. My elephant hanging is from Ebay, and the fairy lights are Urban Outfitters

Newbie

So I just came onto this website in the vain hope I could teach myself to blog, my friend Bryony has been doing it for a while and it seemed like a fun project. It appears I already started here in 2012 and didn;t continue but I think i'm ready to get back into it and I cant wait!
