HD Brows

I apologise for the bad image quality of this post, and all of my posts I am using a bashed up iPhone camera, salvation will come on loan day I promise. Anyway the main topic here is the dramatic transformation of my brows! Some of you may never have heard of HD brows before but this is there website if you want to check them out and search for a salon that offers the service close to you www.hdbrows.com

The technique is to use a combination of threading, waxing, tinting and plucking to create the perfect eyebrow shape with no help from a make up. I have been needing to get my brows done for a while and I highly recommend this treatment it takes about 30 minutes and costs around £25 but its well worth it if you need to regain shape or growth to your brows!

How to wear luminous yellow

TROUSERS//URBAN OUTFITTERS
JUMPER//H&M
SANDALS//MARKET
BAG//MULBERRY
SUNGLASSES//CHLOE FROM TKMAXX
NAIL VARNISH//CIATE

Finally a chance to show off this angelic vintage Mulberry Backpack my mum picked up at an auction recently. She got it in a lot that included a Mulberry purse, belt and a Paul Smith purse all for £100! It's definitely worth researching auction houses in your local area as it can be really fun and you can find some amazing vintage treasure.

Again i'm in the Urban Outfitters pants which I think will be well over worn this summer, they are just so comfy and easy to wear I think comfort and style have come together perfectly for SS14 and you no longer need to squeeze into denim hot pants to get the most out of your summer style.

These amazing handmade leather sandals are from a market stall in Portugal, well worth looking out for handmade stuff if your travelling abroad this year, one of pieces can last you forever.

The most important things I have ever learnt about make up.

I don't consider myself to be an expert on anything beauty related, I watch some Youtube tutorials buy what colours I like and get by on however I feel like presenting myself from one day to the next. However as I have this platform to share with you my thoughts on whatever topic, I have decided to hand out some advice I wish I had been told before getting well into my beauty regime.

Just because it's expensive does not mean it's better.

Once upon a time when I was younger and apparently richer I spent nearly £250 on make up from Chanel after getting a makeover there for my birthday. I thought that I needed the primer, the foundation, the bronzer brush, the lipstick and whatever else it was she plastered on me and convinced me to buy. Guess what, I was wrooong. I ended up spending £45 on a bronzer brush (this concept is now crazy to me) which I subsequently lost on a girls holiday anyway, and even more money on make up I had been convinced would make me look better just because it was Chanel, and it sounded fancy. I am not saying all expensive make up is bad, far from it in fact but I am just saying think. Think before you splash out, and god damn it take a tester, it's really not that rude to leave without buying anything, I promise.

Mac is not the be all and end all of make up.

I cannot help but find that young girls discovering make up, myself included at the age of 14 always thought mac was the only way. I had mac foundation mac brushes mac bronzer blah blah blah. The foundation wasn't even right for my skin, it was too thick and I hated that you had to pay more money if you wanted it to come with a pump...just build them all with pumps? We literally all want a pump. Mac is good, but it's not the only place to go.

God damn it grow your eyebrows

I am in a serious eyebrow regrowth stage at the moment, struggling as it is to defend the urge not to pluck them all off and start again but please dear god take some advice and leave it to the professionals. Unless you have mastered the art of eyebrow perfection or are a self taught threader (threadist?) after watching a YouTube video on how to do it, please god grow them out and seek perfection from a salon, trust me.

Sudocream and Avocado Masks

This is not by any means a recipe to mix the two together, it's just two simple ways of having better skin without paying over the odds for cream you thought looked nice on Davina Mcall in that TV add (does she do hair? I don't know some face cream model). Use sudocream on big red spots and upset skin, and once in a while mash up some avocado, natural yoghurt and honey then smear it all over your face, also lick off if you're feeling inclined.

If you are a clumsy drunk buy a good strong clutch bag

The heading of this one might not sound make up related but coming from someone who owns one mac lipstick after starting university in September with 12, it is. I cannot stress enough that taking out a lipstick expensive or not in your clutch bag is risky business if that thing is not filled with zip pockets and secret compartments. Flimsy just will not do, not only will you lose your flat keys you will be buying a new Ruby woo every week.

Thanks for reading if  you managed it, I might post my make up routine when I'm back in the swing of things money wise then you can decide whether or not I am following my own advice.

It's Getting Sunny!

So there's lots to report from the week/weekend but most of all the fact that FINALLY the sun is starting to appear! I'm going to do a bit of a week in pictures series because it's been my birthday and I have also had my boyfriend (ish kinda easier to say) stay with me before he jetted off travelling for a year!

We shall start with his arrival he brought with him this amazing camera gadget thingy that makes your pictures look super cool and wide and bubble like. I think it has 4 camera settings and costs around £60 but you just clip it onto your iPhone camera and it makes cool effects as shown.

I'm pretty sure it's called an Ollo clip they are very cute little things which create cool looking photos! The top right and bottom left are me in Millennium Square in Leeds, the other two feature the divine shoe selection of Urban Outfitters.

Moving on to this weekend! Well on Sunday I turned the grand old age of 19 and so it has been a weekend of celebrations and festivities. On Friday night I was lucky enough to get my make up done at Bobbi Brown, I normally hate getting my make up done by other people but it was a free make up lesson so I figured  I wasn't loosing anything!

I ended up buying the lipstick as I loved it so much and probably would have bought all of the eye shadows if I could afford it too. She did a very subtle but golden party eye which I think fitted with my chosen outfit which is this gorgeous printed play suit from Topshop which sadly I got no full length photos in, argh silly me. But all in all I loved my makeup and had an amazing birthday, so shall finish with some party snaps including my amazing new jelly shoes my friends got me for my birthday!
